Wednesday, February 08, 2017

Uraia is collaborating with its partner the Committee of Digital and Knowledge-based Cities of United Cities and Local Governments (UCLG) in the elaboration of the 2017 edition of their Smart Cities Study.

The first edition of the international research on the situation of the ICTs, Innovation and Knowledge in the cities (“Smart Cities Study”) was carried out in 2012. As continuation of this work, the UCLG Committee will update the research and include a description of the present situation and the opportunities presented by ICT at a local level; an identification of the key elements that can turn out to be either a brake or facilitators of the development and the identification of good practices that can serve as reference for other cities to progress in the concept of “Smart City”.

The research is conceived as a global cross-cutting approach from the different levers where the growth and transformation potential for a city lie. In order to achieve this goal, 3 big fields have been defined, that would characterise a Smart City and should include the following aspects:

  • INNOVATION, ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND GENERATION OF ECONOMIC ACTIVITY
  • KNOWLEDGE AND TALENT
  • SOCIETY AND DIGITAL ECONOMY

We are pleased to invite Uraia partners to contribute to the UCLG Committee study by sharing their experiences. To those who are interested in contributing, please fill THIS FORM and send it back before 8th February at info @ uclg-digitalcities.org with CC to mariana.nascimento @ uraia.org
